Ultra compact and highly scaleable LTO tape library with SCSI, SAS and FibreChannel interface

The FibreCAT TX48 supports either one or up to four half height drives or one or two full height drives. It offers space for up to an impressive 76.8 TB. Each FibreCAT TX48 contains physically 48 media slots. The entry configuration supports 12 slots. The remaining 36 slots can be activated in steps of 12 slots via soft key license short term. With two drives and a backup software like NetWorker the FibreCAT TX48 supports media cloning, i.e. a backup is written to two tapes. One of those tapes is normally exported immediately to increase data protection. The FibreCAT TX48 is offering a very affordable entry into media cloning.

The FibreCAT TX48 will be connected to a host using SCSI or Fibre Channel, depending on the model. The system features up to two import/export slots and a build-in barcode reader. The FibreCAT TX48 is typically used in a 19" industry standard rack, the necessary equipment is included. The FibreCAT TX48 is great for unattended backup, reducing the risk of manual errors dramatically. This makes the FibreCAT TX48 the ideal tape library for medium sized enterprises and branch offices. Moreover, one year onsite service is included.

The second generation of the FibreCAT TX48 magnetic tape systems emphasizes multiple green characteristics. Besides saving data on tape, the more energy-efficient way to store data, the new systems are optimized for low power consumption when in operation, the use of environmentally friendly materials, as well as high and easy scalability.
The other highlight of the new systems is, that they are equipped with SAS interfaces, the future-proof standard for high data transfer rates and trouble-free transmission. Depending on the model there is also a SCSI or FibreChannel interface available. Moreover one year on-site service and a full backup software bundle are included in the price. The FibreCAT TX48 S2 (4U) is equipped with up to four LTO-3/LTO-4 drives and can store up to 76.8 TB compressed data.
