Fujitsu Siemens Primergy BX600
Performance meets flexibility
The PRIMERGY BX600 Blade Server is a highly scalable 19-inch rack server system that occupies 7 height units (U) and has a modular infrastructure for accommodating highly compact server units (server blades). Due to their high performance PRIMERGY BX600 Blade Servers are qualified for sophisticated tasks in datacenter environments, such as database or application servers, web servers or communication servers with heavy load profiles. The BX600 today offers performance and scalability for tomorrow with 64-bit processor-technology by Intel and AMD and a chassis that supports future technologies.
The broad range of processor configurations and flexible scaling options (Dual or Quad Socket, Dual- or Quad-Core) enable the PRIMERGY BX600 to meet nearly all requirements in typical datacenter applications. Satisfaction of ever growing demand for I/O capacity is a primary target with BX600 S3.
The supporting attributes to achieve that are:
- High number of Ethernet connections
- FibreChannel throughput 4 Gbit/s per channel
- Huge number of lanes to each destination
Efficiency enhancement results from complexity reduction and cost saving through infrastructure consolidation and integration. Up to ten fastest 64-Bit Intel® Dual- and Quad-Core and / or AMD Quad-Core Server Blades with processors for all purposes (server, management and communication) are collaborating in the high density (7U) 19-inch rack. Lowest Thermal Design Power and a central power & cooling concept with redundant and hot-plug power supply units and fans serve the complete Blade Server combined with less energy consumption facilitating. Fast and easy provisioning of server capacity by enablement of single as well as - local or remote - mass installations with PRIMERGY ServerStart and RemoteDeploy solutions.
Maximum investment protection is guaranteed due to the design continuity of our Advanced Blade Ecosystem, enabling for long-term usability of newly developed components within the future-oriented BX600 chassis.
Efficiency and Agility improvements are offered by faster reactivity on administration necessities by a comprehensive system management, its simplified usability with the PRIMERGY ServerView Suite and the easy integration in third party Enterprise Management Systems.
Agility on highest level by flexible scalability of servers is granted with unique expandability of AMD based server blades from 2- to 4-socket (16-way) systems, i.e. scaling up according to the workload to be satisfied.
Business continuity paired with highly efficient operation follows from three main characteristics, realized with PRIMERGY BX600: Primarily, the design for highest reliability, which avoids any Single Point of Failure through redundancy from End-to-End and guaranteeing the optimal ratio of performance, power and necessary cooling capacity, secondly, in the event of hardware or operating system failures, the easy to use and highly efficient solution x10sure that offers advanced n:1 failover operation, and thirdly the opportunity to leverage the large Eco System by use of proven solutions and partners, e. g. for deployment in heterogeneous environments with Altiris or for software based virtualization purposes with VMware, now supported by Intel's new Virtualization Technology.
From FlexFrameTM for SAP® or FlexFrameTM for Oracle via EasyExchange as mail consolidation solution up to Storage virtualization with CentricStor: PRIMERGY BX600 optimally utilizes these and lots of additional solution packages in order to provide you with the best custom-tailored environment.

| Integrated Cisco Ethernet Switch Blade CBS3040 for customers primarily using Cisco components |
Gigabit Ethernet Intelligent Blade Panels as well as 4 Gbit/s FibreChannel Access Gateway as hardware foundation for I/O virtualization in LAN and SAN environments with ServerView Virtual-I/O Manager |
|
| Gigabit Ethernet Intelligent Blade Panels as well as 4 Gbit/s FibreChannel Access Gateway as hardware foundation for I/O virtualization in LAN and SAN environments with ServerView Virtual-I/O Manager |
Elimination of interoperability issues between internal switch Blades and external switches form diverse vendors (e. g. CISCO, Nortel, Brocade) due to protocol independency of these Connection Blades Cost reduction by decreased number of connection cables compared to pass-thru Blades Separation of server and network administration domains |
