SPARC Enterprise servers

The SPARC® Enterprise Servers, based on the SPARC architecture and running the Solaris™ 10 operating system (OS) are ideal for customers requiring highly scaleable, reliable servers, and needing to achieve increased system utilization and performance through virtualization. The servers leverage the powerful combination of our expertise in mission-critical computing technologies and high-performance processor design, and Sun’s expertise in open, scalable, partition-based network computing.

Entry systems

The entry models use a one socket/eight core UltraSPARC® T1 processor (eight core x four threads) in a compact 19-inch rack housing.

Midrange systems

SPARC® Enterprise servers with extended mission critical technology. These models have four or eight SPARC64 VI processors (two core x two threads).

High-end systems

Mainframe-class RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability) features and from 16 socket/32core to 64 socket/128core processing power for highly mission-crtitical enterprise applications.

SPARC® Enterprise Servers with their specific models are the result of the Sun and Fujitsu joint co-operation. SPARC® Enterprise Servers are sold and marketed from Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu Ltd. and Fujitsu Siemens Computers under the respective company brands but are technically and functionally completely identical in construction and therefore 100% compatible in hardware and firmware.
