PRIMEPOWER 650 8U

PRIMEPOWER
650 8U

An accommodating platform

The search for a remarkably flexible yet cost-effective Solaris platform is over. This 8U compute node rack model is simple to deploy, but with up to eight SPARC64™ V processors, still delivers high linear scalability for demanding enterprise workloads. The PRIMEPOWER 650 is ideal for high-performance computing in corporate SAN/NAS networks, and is easy to

expand with optional I/O and disk extensions into a central system for mid-sized enterprises or large branch offices. Continuous operation is guaranteed thanks to the PRIMEPOWER 650’s failsafe system design. Unique processor, cache and memory ECC (error checking and correcting) features and redundant, easy-to-replace hot-swappable components all work in harmony to drastically reduce the susceptibility of your business critical applications.

Key features Benefits
RISC processor with self-healing features (automatic instruction retry, ECC degradation) for enhanced RAS. Fault isolation and autonomous control ensure that faulty vital components (CPU, caches, memory) are discarded before they can fail and without affecting applications. Automatic retry of commands in case of error.
Improved production quality and reduced ownership costs.
Latest generation SPARC64™ V processor with 2.02 GHz and 3 MB level 2 cache. Top performance for Solaris based applications.
Less CPUs required for application workloads.
Reduced software outlay for CPU-based licenses
High-performance crossbar for data transfer rates of up to 13.8 GB/s enables scalability with up to eight processors, 64 GB main memory and 20 PCI slots (with external PCI box). Enables flexible, cost-effective custom configurations.
