PRIMERGY BF 200
Virtualized server pool for dynamic infrastructures
BladeFrame 200 combines six Processing Blades; redundant, integrated controllers; a redundant interconnect; and powerful virtualization software in a self-contained chassis. By delivering the PAN architecture in a scaled-down form factor, BladeFrame 200 enables IT organizations to leverage a common platform across the enterprise while bringing the benefits of utility computing to a wide range of applications and environments. The BF 200 is ideally suited for branch offices, call centers, remote sites and business units that would benefit from BladeFrames unique virtualization services, including automated deployment, built-in clustering and load balancing, dynamic utilization, secure partitioning, N+1 failover and disaster recovery, remote management and self-correcting diagnostics. The system's compact form factor enables rack mounting along with storage devices, networking switches, routers and other components.
Disaster Recovery
PRIMERGY BladeFrame offers attractive options for protecting a number of production locations. Unlike traditional scenarios, identical servers do not have to be kept at two locations. In order to reconfigure a server infrastructure at the disaster recovery site, in the event of a disaster, the PRIMERGY BladeFrame failover system needs the current configuration and network infrastructure definition of every production site. In this way, the availability of the individual business process can be ensured within a matter of minutes, and during normal operation, the failover system can be used for other tasks.
More flexibility
PRIMERGY BladeFrame improves IT responsiveness to business requirements and the reliability of provisioning IT services. From a company's point of view, the ability to deploy applications much faster than before plays a key role here. The time span between a new business idea and its being mapped in a functioning business process has shortened dramatically, thus allowing for a competitive edge that is reflected in earnings and market shares or greater customer loyalty. Just as vital as this strategic dimension of greater IT responsiveness is the operational dimension in daily operations, with capacity on demand for applications and extensive, readily implementable ways of ensuring business continuity.
| Key features | Benefits |
| Stateless, anonymous and interchangeable processing nodes (pBlades) | Automated allocation, repurposing and failover since any pBlade can immediately assume the identity of any other, seamless integration and less complexity |
| Reduced time for provisioning of new servers | Faster reaction on new as well as on changed business processes and needs |
| Flexible and fast reallocation of server capacities | Reduction in real server instances and in software license costs, increased server utilization |
| Logically separate areas, each with their own administration authority for physical and virtual resources that are allocated to a set of applications | Independent, client-specific domains |
| Flexible failover and high availability without the need of additional cluster software | Ratio between production and failover servers = N:1, instead of 1:1 |
| Consistent form factor of processing resources (pBlade), 2- / 4-socket pBlades with Dual- and Quad-Core CPU’s, Intel / AMD processors: Mix and match configurations | Support of Windows, Linux and Solaris operating systems, deployment of unmodified applications |
